All those familiar with Natural Vibes will know that my passion is to teach natural healing techniques and practices for those who desire to make a transformation in their wellbeing. I help empower people to heal themselves and others naturally. Mudras are hand gestures made during meditation; they are said to regulate the flow of energy into the body and stimulate different areas of the brain.
There are many types of hand mudras designed to bring different benefits. Read on to understand my six favourites, along with their uses and benefits.
1. Gyan Mudhra (Mudra of Knowledge)

Practice this mudra first thing each morning - preferably before sunrise - to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
It is named the 'Mudra of Knowledge' due to its ability to increase concentration and memory power. Gyan mudra stimulates the air element in the body, leading to an increase in the memory power, nervous system and pituitary gland production.
How to do it: Touch the tip of your index finger with the tip of your thumb. Keep the other three fingers relaxed.
2. Prithi Mudra (Mudra of Earth)

Perform this mudra when you feel stressed out and exhausted. Sitting in the lotus position while adopting the prithi mudra pose has the power to re-energise you; stimulating your energy flows to instantly give more pep. Another great benefit is that it makes your skin glow.
How to do it: Touch the tip of your ring finger with the tip of your thumb. Pressing the tips of these two fingers, keep the rest of the fingers extended out.
3. Varun Mudra (Mudra of Water)

A very effective mudra for overall health, the 'Mudra of Water' encourages fluidity in body, mind and soul. In relation to outer beauty, Varun Mudra reduces the dryness of the skin and helps to improve its luster and softness.
How to do: Touch the tips of your little finger and thumb together before applying light pressure. Relax the rest of the fingers but aim to keep them straight.
4. Shuni Mudra (Mudra Of Emptiness)

When performed daily, the 'Mudra of Emptiness' or 'Mudra of Heaven' will reduce pockets of space obscuring energy flow. Shuni can improve hearing and soothe ear aches, strengthen the bones, teeth and gums, while reducing ill affects of throat problems.
How to do it: Press the first phalanx of your middle finger with the thumb, while the other three fingers are kept straight and stretched. For best results, practice this mudra for fifteen minutes, three times a day.
5. Surya Mudra (Mudra Of The Sun)
Want to lose weight? This is an amazing mudra for weight loss, boosting your metabolism whilst balancing your internal temperature at the optimum levels. The 'Mudra of the Sun' increases the fire element in the body, relieving coldness of body limbs, hands or feet especially when suffering from the chills.
How to do it: Press your ring finger and press it with the thumb just as shown in the picture. Complete this 30mins each day to get the results you're looking for. Consider adopting this pose when listening to an affirmation or grounding meditation.
6. Prana Mudra (Mudra Of Life)

There's only one reason why this is called the 'Mudra of Life', because it's the most important for aligning your energy channels with all the positive life forces around you. The Prana Mudra improves your immune system, reduces fatigue and sharpens your focus for positive moments ahead.
How to do it: Bend your ring finger and little finger and touch the tip of both these fingers with the tip of your thumb.
We have the power and ability to heal ourselves naturally. Let's fully commit to ourselves; changing our life and lifestyle for the better!
Love and light Jodie Hazel 🙏
